Dear Teachers, Alumni, Students, Parents and all well-wishers,
Warm greetings to you all!
The school website is the primary channel for communicating information to parents, guardians, teachers, and well-wishers about the school’s achievements and students’ accomplishments in all spheres of theirlives. All stakeholders, namely teachers, parents, and other educators, are integral parts of the learning journey. They have the ability to ignite fires, help children succeed, and even change the world. It is said, ‘Be the change to change the world.”As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
W.B. Yeats said, “Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire.”It is also said that you light your own lamp first, and then you light others' lamps. If one person is in a state of utter darkness ofignorance, one cannot lead the others. Sometimes we are presented with a difficult task or learning opportunity that stops us in our tracks. It may seem easy to give up; however, our character is strengthened in the moments where we must press on and try again. Choosing to put forth the effort may make all the difference in the world
The world is our common home, and we cannot deny the responsibility of making our common home a better place to live in for the whole of humanity. We are affected by the incident that occurred elsewhere in the world. We are one or the other regarding the world's concerns. Education empowers a person to pursue his or her ultimate quest for knowledge, i.e., truth. Truth makes a person free. Education should lead all of humanity towards this greater freedom: freedom from the darkness of ignorance, freedom from violence, religious intolerance, fundamentalism, terrorism, an unjust society, corruption, and all kinds of sinful states of life.
The ultimate focus of education is building character. Therefore, education should promotevalue-basedlearning, which is an indispensablepart of any educational institution. Jesuit education focuses on the ‘4C’: Competence, Conscience, Compassion, and Commitment. St. John’s school primarily promotes the values of education and character formation. So, the motto of the school is pfj= fuek.ka Kku foKkukr Js"BrjeCharacter formation is parexcellence of all kinds of science and knowledge of the world.
So, let us dream high, as Eleanor Roosevelt said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” St. John’s school heads towards the goal which is set by the schoolwithin our given capacity. Let us make our journey together in the learning process, including all of humanity, and hold them responsible for the world's concerns.
Best wishes to all the students, parents, and teachers for better connectivity in all forms. Enjoy and visit the school website frequently!
